RNR #39: with Reds 4th round draft pick Mark Fleury

Redleg Nation editor Bill Lack had a chance to catch up with Mark Fleury, the 21-year old catcher selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the fourth round of this year's amateur draft. He's a great kid, and we hope he's headed for big things...despite the fact that Chad felt the need to give Mark a hard time about his college choice. (Forgive us, Mark!)

Jeremy Horst, a left-handed starting pitcher for the Reds High-A affiliate in Sarasota, joined Chad Dotson for today's edition of the Redleg Nation Radio podcast. Horst is having a great season for Sarasota, with a 2.33 ERA so far this year (after going 5-0 with a 1.64 ERA in ten starts for Dayton last year). The kid is flying under the radar somewhat, but he has been outstanding since becoming a pro and appears to have a bright future.

I'm telling you, this is a great kid and you are going to enjoy getting to know him.

Fellow RN Editor Bill sat down with Tyler at the Champions Baseball Academy recently, and had a wonderful conversation. I think you'll enjoy the interview.

For what it's worth, I wasn't messing up Taveras' name on purpose. It was a complete mistake every time I said it, but it was kinda funny, so I left it in.
